So what is gold vermeil?

Generally, gold vermeil jewelry is higher quality than gold-plated jewelry and differs in several ways. Gold vermeil jewelry refers to 10k-24k gold-plated silver with a thickness of at least 2.5 microns. Gold-plated jewelry may contain cheaper core materials such as copper or metal alloys and has no required minimum thickness or purity. All Heartfelt pieces are made with high-quality gold vermeil. We use sustainably treated 22-karat gold to coat recycled sterling silver.
